Arts@Metta

Arts@Metta is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to equip youths with special needs with life skills that promote integration, independence and employment.

We embarked on a journey with Arts@Metta to curate an unique collection of art pieces that expresses the Little India community’s distinctive character and empower the creative talents within our community.

The Light of Colours is an exuberant collection of colourful art pieces curated by Arts@Metta artist Jozie Koek using the watercolour medium to showcase various elements reflecting what the hotel, deeply immersed in the rich tapestry of the Little India neighbourhood means to her.

Jeya Spices

Meet Jeya, a third-generation spice mixer who followed the footsteps of his forefathers to learn the art of mixing spices.

He inherited the traditional spice stall started by his grandfather, Mr Ramanathan Chettiar who started it in 1947 and like many third-generation business owners, he has been transforming a steadfastly traditional craft in his own modern ways.

Whether it's a traditional Indian masak merah or a tangy Peranakan Nyonya fish curry, the beloved Spiceman mixes spices with rhythmic ease to suit any palate.

SG Enable
